Thalestrak supplies fundamental
vehicle data to managers via
an easy-to-use web-based application
(Thalestrak.com). Time-triggered
data transfers report on mileage,
fuel consumption, precise position
and routes travelled, as well
as on vehicle statistics like
speed and engine performance.
Event-triggered alerts signal
violations of pre-defined operating
zones (geofences) and designated
delivery routes, while alerting
managers to device power cuts,
tampering, accidents or vehicle
misuse. Both current and historical
information is stored and readily
available for analysis using
Thalestrak.com.
Thalestrak-equipped drivers
may use in-vehicle mapping displays
to stay on course or "panic
buttons" in case of breakdown
or emergency. Vehicles can be
equipped with tracking devices
integrated with engine immobilizers
and alarm systems that can alert
the driver by text message via
the Thales Telematics' Hub.
In addition, the Thales Telematics
Response Centre will contact
the driver by phone to asses
the situation. In the event
of theft or driver distress,
the relevant authorities or
emergency services will be dispatched
to the driver and vehicle.
This solution comprises the
following:
- Hardware - in-vehicle communications
and positioning units (Telematics
Control Units or TCU)
- Communications Hub
- Software - fleet management
system or Thalestrak.com
- Response Centre Services
- Airtime
- Installation and support
All these are backed by Thales
and as such provide a unique,
high technology solution.
